I’m sure that many of you have heard about ‘Dance Moms’ and all of the drama surrounding this reality TV show. You probably also know that I cannot endorse Ms. Miller, her teaching methods, or her financial impropriety. The latter issue is what caused her court conviction in 2017. On July 12, Ms. Miller checked into the Victorville Prison facility. She was convicted of tax fraud and was sentenced to a year and one day in prison. But I have news that may surprise you.

I have been praying for Abby Lee Miller. If she is open to a visit, I plan to drive to Victorville and see her. Why? Because she needs a friend. News reports continue to detail a lack of relational connection with people who, while they may not agree with her reality show(like me), have cut any communication with her. I would encourage others to extend kindness and grace to her despite personal mistakes.

I’ve made many mistakes in my life and I’ve suffered for them. Yet, in spite of those mistakes, the Lord Jesus has shown me his grace and mercy in the midst of difficulty. Through the years, I have particularly appreciated the way that God has revealed HIS heart to me through the compassion and mercy of others. I want to be available to do the same thing for Abby Lee Miller.

Please pray for me that the Lord Jesus would open doors to meet with Abby and that I would reflect His love to her in any interactions that I might have. The journey of walking with Jesus extends his hands to a hurting world whether they know him or not.
